Question by Ashlie B: Will an unlocked cell phone work with Cricket wireless?
Im looking at unlocked cell phones and i wanted to know if i can get it hooked up to cricket.

Best answer:

Answer by Nick D
Most “unlocked” phones are GSM devices, which won’t work on Cricket. If you can find an “unlocked” CDMA device and have some way of getting settings onto it, then yeah, you can use an unlocked CDMA device on Cricket.

Assurance & easy to read, September 24, 2013

Love this phone! Have Assurance EBT service and declining reading vision. This phone is not only easily compatible (Call Assurance -not Virgin- to set up.), but the large screen and large, separated keypads are easy to read. Also has a convenient, easy to use camera. It’s certainly nothing fancy…. (If you want tech advanced, look elsewhere.) But if you want a low-cost, easy use phone with easy to see features to replace your assurance phone for ma, grandpa, etc. you’re in the right spot. (Also, Amazon had the lowest $ even with s&p and it arrived 2 days early. Kudos to Amazon!)

    Disappointing reception, July 8, 2013

I like the larger display. I am better able to see everything on this phone. On other phones I’ve had, I haven’t been able to see much at all. It’s very good for people with lower vision. The phone is longer than most, but will fit in your pocket.

There is some wiggle room at the hinge. It seems that could make it easier to break at that point. It also doesn’t get good reception in the city because of the high rises. I don’t know about stores. It has dropped a few calls due to this. Other phones I’ve had also got poor reception in the buildings, but they never got so bad as to drop a call. I would have given this a 4 star if the reception was better.

  4. @espaghetti99 Oh I realize when you posted this, but he posted that comment
4 months ago, i was just sayin NOW its outdated, at the time it was a good
    phone forsure.

  5. @nikisha10001 no not at all.

  6. I guess apple knows this due to a refresh every year or two.

  7. Ok for everyone who HAD this phone or NEVER HAD this phone stop talking!!!
This phone has lasted me 2yrs everything still works! little scratches here
and there not the best looking phone but works awesome!! If you drop your
phone alot LOL heres the phone for you…Ive dropped it like 10 times
nothing has happend! YET,, LOL. I still have it but might upgrade because i
have had it for along time not because it sucks or anything it still looks
new!! So yeah it is a good working phone! 5 stars

  8. i am getting this phone! i watched this video and you really helped me
understand what to do/how to operate it as of i am not very good with
    phones so thanks for posting

  9. I never had that problem with this phone. or service. This phone is the
newer version, which replaced the older version when the phone first came
out, which I was told fixed alot of bugs. So if you buy it new and not on
    ebay you should be good.

  10. i just got one,how do i add music?

  11. Before tax is $40.00. I live in Texas. Use zip 78214 to compare rates to
your zip code on the cricket web site. I got the $35.00 plan and added emal
    =$40

  12. @steven781227 I wrote this review in November 2009, so yes this phone is
outdated. I now have an iPhone, which I luv. If i had to get a cricket
phone today, I would get a cricket android phone.

  13. Everythings bigger in Texas, except costs. jk. That plan is 50$/m in
    Colorado.

  14. okay this is my question how do i watch youtube on my txtm8 cricket phone.
i can go to youtube, but it wont play a video

  15. Ive heard there were issues with recieving pic messaging. Hav eyou had
    these problems???

  16. That phone is durable as hell. I dropped it from my gokart like 30 times
and it worked fine. I then my friend threw it at a wall cause he hates me
and then it finally broke. also, you have the same camera as me.

  17. Or worst: They offer no constructive criticism. “Hur hur! It suxxorz!” Good
review. I have Cricket and while I find their service rather sub-par, I’m
getting what I paid for- I have a cheap bill for unlimited txt and calls
and that’s all I need. I’ve been looking at getting the phone; you say you
pay ~$40 a month. What plan do you have exactly? Because before or after
taxes can knock that price up a bit. I have I think their second tier
    plan($35/mnth) and I don’t think I’d get web connectivity.

  18. Just got this for my wife, good phone. Had to get her a new one once she
saw my HTC TP2 flashed to cricket. Ended up paying 85 for this phone cash
then only had to pay 15 on my next bill to have it activated.

  19. yeah in 2011 im gng to get this phone. Or hopefully they have sum new ones
    out =]

  20. can u change your background?

  21. Does this phone support video text?

  22. Most carriers will let you call up and switch the phone on your account. With CDMA all they usually have to do is switch the ESN of the phone on your account. Assuming that you are not under contract with them of course (Cricket doesn’t have contracts). Best bet would be to call Cricket and ask if they would do this for you.
